Performance Improvement Thoughts

A month or so ago I said I would do a series of posts related to various aspects of doing performance improvement initiatives. Things got in the way but I am ready to start posting some thoughts. I have identified a series of tasks or things that should be given some attention for a performance improvement effort to be successful. You can probably add to my list. I’ll address about 10 things or so including:

  • The efforts theme
  • Background information
  • Current Performance
  • Goal Statements
  • Root-cause Analysis
  • Determining the Desired Performance
  • Selecting Improvement InterventionsĀ  or Countermeasures
  • Developing Improvement Implementation plans
  • Costs
  • Confirming Improvements
  • Standardization of New Processes

These are all pretty standard things that are done in improvement initiatives. I”ll mention some tools that you might find useful along the way. Maybe by talking about them we can learn some things together. Feel free to jump in the comments section.

The first installment will be posted in a few days.
